Gianni Guidotti Senior Vice President, Operations, Purchasing and Quality

Gianni Guidotti is senior vice president of Operations, Purchasing and Quality for Pirelli Broadband Solutions, a company within the Pirelli Group (PECI: MI) specializing in broadband access and photonics solutions for telecommunications operators worldwide. He overseas all operating activities, purchasing and quality assurance.  A 16 year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Guidotti has held several senior-management positions within the Pirelli Group.

From 2002 to 2004, Guidotti was director of Engineering and Operations for the Telecom Systems business unit in Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi Telecom S.p.A., sold to Prysmian Cables & Systems in June 2005.  Here he held R&D responsibilities which included the management of existing product portfolios and the development and launch of a new product line based on ADSL. 

From 2000 to 2002, Guidotti left Pirelli for a short stint with Cisco Photonics Italy when Pirelli's Optical Systems' division was sold to Cisco.  At Cisco he oversaw manufacturing activity relating to the production of all new products.  Prior to his time at Cisco, Guidotti was manager of Manufacturing Engineering for Pirelli Optical Systems Italia.  Here he was responsible for the development of terrestrial and submarine DWDM platforms.  In addition, Guidotti managed 40 research technicians.  Guidotti also held a project management role within the Lightwave Transmission business unit of Pirelli Cavi S.p.A.  He entered Pirelli in 1990.

Guidotti holds a university degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Florence in Italy.
